Note to Self

Most likely this will not be of interest to any of you who read my blog. This is just a note to self and hopefully I can get it drilled into my head to start taking my own advice.

Stop thinking about things that don't matter! You said it yourself that people just need to live their lives and when things are meant to happen they'll happen. You have so many opportunities right in front of you. You have been given the opportunity to be here at BYU and Heavenly Father knew that you needed to be here. Being involved in campus activities and ward activities is great and it's really giving you a chance to get to know a lot of people and make a lot of friends. That is what college is all about. Getting out of your box, meeting new people and doing things for yourself. I think someone said that College years are the time for us to be selfish. I don't remember who said that, but it's true. The things I'm doing now, I'm doing for myself. I take the classes I want to, work the jobs that I want to, do whatever I want to do with my free time because I want to do it. So during college, we really figure out who we are, what we like doing, and what we can become. Can I say how much I enjoy life? I have so many good things going for me and a lot of kids will never get to do the things I get to do. They won't go to college, they won't get to experience meeting people from all over the world. So Jessica, it's time. It's time for you to stop thinking about yourself all the time and dwelling on on your little problems. Honestly, you worry over nothing. It doesn't even matter who likes who in the ward, it doesn't matter that this so-and-so has a girl now. None of that matters. Make friends, enjoy life, and always remember to find ways to serve. As you strive to live a righteous life and make good choices, Heavenly Father will reward you for your good works as long as your heart is always in the right place. See what a good piece of advice that was, from your ownself? It's about time you take your own advice. Hope this gets drilled into your head. You are a Daughter of God and no matter what trials you face, your Heavenly Father knows what is best for you. He knows how to help you and he will always be there. Learn to trust in the Lord's plan for you, learn to have patience, learn to forget and move on, learn to have faith that God will fulfill his promises, learn to laugh more and worry less, learn to love others more and judge less, always be you.
