General Conference Weekend

One of the best weekends out of the year is General Conference weekend. I admit, when I was a kid and sometimes still I think Conference is boring. I just listen to these men speak right after each other and try not to fall asleep. But now, I've gained a different perspective. General Conference is a wonderful opportunity, it is a blessing to be able to watch and listen to these Apostles of Jesus Christ speak to us. They are the mouthpiece of God and they tell us the things that he would say to us if he were here on this Earth today. This is his work, they are his servants. He has called them to lead and direct us in these latter-days. The Lord loves us and he knows exactly what we are going through because he suffered in Gethsemane for us. I am so thankful for the matchless gift of the atonement and the merciful love that Jesus Christ extends to us all. I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for allowing me to come to Earth and this time to work out my salvation, for allowing me to come to a good home with parents who love me and who are active members of the Church. It is such a blessing to be born into the Church. I've always said that I love being born into the Covenant because I feel like I've never left my Heavenly Father. I left from his presence to come to this Earth and I was born into a home where I can still hear his voice through living prophets. Isn't that amazing!
I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Restored gospel of Jesus Christ. In this Church all of the keys, power, and rights of the sacred priesthood are found that existed in Christ's Church. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he leads, guides and directs this Church. He is very much a part of our lives, he is my Brother in Pre-mortality and my Savior and King in this life and in the World to come. I praise and revere his name. I leave these thoughts with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
