If only I had pictures to document the exciting events of the night.
Friday night a group of us went to see Planet 51, the outdoor movie on BYU's Helaman Field.
We had a lot of fun and chowed down on free ice cream and whale snack crackers and played a few rounds of BS and ERS. Yeah, we are fans of card games. It started to storm as the movie was coming to an end, and having been raised around tornadoes and severe weather all my life, I knew when the wind changed I needed to move. So I speedily ran off along with my friend Levin and we made it home before it started raining. However, the rest of the group came back soaked. haha We plan on watching the movie again sometime. Lately, I haven't been in the I can concentrate mood while watching movies. It depends on what I'm watching....
Saturday, we did laundry in the morning and got ready for the day/night. We wanted to go Karoke-- because we couldn't find anyone to take us to SLC, we didn't want to drive. So we went to Guru's, a little restaurant on Center Street in downtown Provo. They have Karoke from 8-11 every Saturday Night. I sang the famous song, Hero, by Mariah Carey... that was fun. And then this guy, bless his poor soul. I think he had some mental disability, came up to me and asked me to sing with him- I was fine with that. But, we sang Summer Nights from Grease.. and let's just say I along with my gazing roommates were laughing so hard. When it comes to the line, "We made out, under the dock...." This guy starts thrusting his pelvis. I looked away and laughed and so did the whole restaurant. But it was fun, and I don't really get intimidated with that kind of thing anymore. In fact, I'll do pretty much anything if it doesn't cause too much embarassment or isn't dangerous. Then we went to see Robinhood at the Dollar Theater with a group of people and we sat in the front row which always equals a sore neck and not being able to focus on the movie. We got Frozen Yogurt before then so that was fun too.
And that Thursday night we took a temple trip up to Draper Temple and that was a good experience. But, it's like I've said before, it's always better to be prepared to go to the temple than to just hop in a car and go.. I like to get in the right mindset and it kind of felt rushed and disorganized. But we got out early and walked around the huge neighborhood with these gigantic houses that look like they came from Tuscany. Who would ever want to live there where there's no yard to play in? And so many windows everyone knows what you are cooking for dinner?! Not me.
But it was a great week. We'll see what this week has in store. My roommate brought her sister's karoke thing back to the apartment. I'll be singing by myself every day for a while now.. hahah
Bye!
