Test of Honor.

Today in Biology I went up to get my graded exam and on the desk were the reading quizzes for the day. I will say, I looked at the quiz, so I knew what would be on it for the day. I saw that we had to draw the structure of the seed.

Knowing this information, I went back to my seat and said that I would not study any more and would not open my notes to review the structure of the seed. That would put me above everyone else and allow me an unfair advantage. So I put up all of my notes and sat there until they passed the quiz out.

I will tell you, that I did not know the structure of the seed because that was not in our reading, and I drew the megagametophyte instead of the seed. But what joy did I feel from being HONEST!

Good for you Jessica. A Rare quality indeed!!! Karl G. Maeser(there's a statue of him or used to be when I was there in front of the Maeser Building. I am not sure you know this, But he is my children's great great grandfather. His daughter was my father n laws mother. He was known to be a very honest man and his students loved him. He said if I put a circle around myself and I gave my word that I wouldn't move from that spot, then I would stay there and die. He also taught Brighman Young's children. Stephen Karl, and Daniel Maeser are named after him.

Yeah, I think I did know that.
I love Karl G. Maesar and everything that he brought to the University. There is a song they sing at "Traditions of Honor" during New Student Orientation that is based off of the "Circle of Honor" speech. I love it!!
