Time

I hate the way my purse is laid out. I can't ever get my wallet in there without trying to fit in a pocket or something. Anyway....

I went on a walk to the temple this evening and it felt so good out tonight. I just sat there and kind of got chilly and then walked on home. It's always nice to sit outside the fountain and just think. Trust me, I do a lot of thinking. Sometimes too much.
I've learned though, that everything will work out in the Lord's time. Sometimes, things don't happen when I want them to, or the things that I want to happen don't. I'm okay with that for the most part because I know there is a plan for me that I haven't even discovered yet and every day a piece of it unfolds without me even knowing it. The choices that we make each day determine the path of our destiny. I have a firm understanding of this principle and I truly believe in it.

I bought some songs from the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack today. My favorite is the Living Sculptures at Pemberley. I absolutely love it because it helps me to reflect. I walked to the temple while I was listening to it and it was soothing. I just wanted to lay on the grass and look at the sky and ponder my existence.

Each year, I find that I ask Heavenly Father to help me figure out what I am supposed to do with my life. I ask him to give me strength, to help me to recognize the Spirit in my life and to help me act upon the promptings that I receive. The Spirit can speak to me all day but if I don't listen or heed what I feel I should do, what's the use of the gift of the Holy Ghost? Life is tough and is uncertain each day. I find myself in different situations every hour that require a decision to be made. I want to do the right things, I want to have Heavenly guidance all along the way. Relying upon my mortal mind only would leave me in the same place I started.

So here's to a great school year coming up at the end of this month. Full of studying, service, campus activities, making new friends, temple attendance, ward activities and whatever else there is for me to focus on.

Here are some quotes that are applicable to my life at this point:

Dallin H. Oaks: " Something may be right, but the timing might not be right."

Orson F. Whitney: " The nearer a person approaches the Lord, a greater power will be manifested by the adversary to prevent the accomplishments of his purposes."

Ezra Taft Benson: "When we put the Lord first, all other things will fall into place."

Strive to be a better person this week. Find ways to serve others in small ways and draw near unto the Lord.
