Apples

I love Green Apples and even more than that, I love twisting the stem off.

I remember when I was a kid, I was told that you say the alphabet while you twist it and the letter that you land on is the first letter of your future husband's name. I think a couple of times I might have landed on 'Y' or 'Z' and I do not know anyone with those names. Tough luck. I should take an average of the times each letter is landed on.

While I was at work today and was eating an apple I decided to look up the tradition of twisting off the stem when I found this other folklore about the action....

According to AssociatedContent.com,
"You can also take an apple and think of five or six names and as you twist the stem think of the name until the stem comes off. The name you were thinking of when the stem comes off is the name of your future spouse."

I liked this idea better and it came off on the second pull! Obviously you are going to name the people that you really like first so you'll be pretty happy with the results... I guess.
