Sweet Home Alabama

So I ditched Provo for a week and headed back home to good ole Alabama. Let me tell you, I did not want to get back on that plane and I did not want to leave Alabama. I love every bit of it, even the humidity!!

I really enjoyed spending time with my Mom though. I have been away from home since January and I don't really have anybody to talk to talk to out here. I mean, I love the friends that I have which I consider mostly acquaintances. Okay, that came out wrong. I love the friends I have... but I don't really like to go out and do things all the time. But I love being with Mom and just getting out and acting crazy. When I'm with her, I'm completely me and that is something a lot of people out here don't see... okay mostly everyone.

So Monday we went out to eat with our friend Barbara at my favorite Chinese Buffet where I always load up. Then we went back to her house and played games. Mom loved Clue, she would always get to guess right when I knew who the people were!! I think she cheated off my paper. Ha! Just kidding.

Then Tuesday we went to Huntsville and ate with Mom's friends Sandy and Janice and Sandy's Daughter Clarissa and her little boy. That was fun. They are all a hoot together and a wish Mom would spend more time with them. Then we went to my Grandma's house and stayed there for about three or four hours and ate dinner. I had a PB&J Sandwich. I've become a fan of them. More so than usual.

Wednesday we were going to rest... but we ended up going to Point Mallard and seeing the people I used to work with then we took my cousin Ginny out to eat at Mi Hacienda. I really don't even remember eating there, but I know we did. haha

Thursday we got a rental Car and went up to Chattanooga and went to the aquarium! My favorite place. The fish got boring though and we basically rushed through it. I love touching the animals though. I don't know why mom doesn't want to touch them. I have to make her.
Then we went shopping a little and got some clothes and what not. Then we went to eat at this BBQ Place called Famous Daves. Oh you are talking bout the best BBQ you have put in your mouth. It was so good! I will definitely go back there if I go back to Chattanooga. You just can't get real BBQ out west! For that you got to go down south!

Friday we just went shopping around in Decatur to the mall and ross's and target. I think that is what we did that day.

Saturday we took my Grandma out to eat at Logan's another classic. And then we went to wal-mart and got some pictures developed.

Sunday I went to Church came home and ate whitt's BBQ and then we went to the airport. Mom wanted to sit out with me for a little while and then I was just ready to go.
It was sad though. I miss being at home and for some reason this time actually felt like home. It was like Provo didn't even exist. I didn't have to worry about school or work or think about mountains... The people didn't even seem real to me. So I did not want to go back to Utah. It really made me miss Alabama being back there though. There's something about it, it's where I grew up. It's the smell and the people and the family. I feel like it's where I belong. And it will always be my home. So I'll probably be back Thanksgiving.

But-- not to mention. I leave Provo and Michael Jackson dies, I'm glad I had a TV or I wouldn't have known. I had a delay last night when I was supposed to leave at 9:35 I left at 11:35 and got to Provo at like 3AM. I had to get the After hours shuttle which was an additional 30 dollars and then I went to sleep until like 8 and unpacked everything.
It get to start packing again for Thursday when I go to Idaho tomorrow night because I'll be busy the rest of the time. Wednesday I have an NSO meeting with lunch included and I have institute. Tonight is FHE and hometeachers. So things are busy. But I'm glad I get to see my cousin Emily!! Then I'll have to leave her too. School will be starting soon and I'm doing NSO again this Fall but shhh don't tell anyone!

Got to take a shower and get back into the groove of things. No humidity outisde here. Sad :(

Sounds so fun! I'm glad you got to go home. But good news for you: you can get a little taste of home here in Utah, we have Famous Daves! There's one in Layton (which is a little far away) and one in Midvale and I think there might be one in West Jordan.
