Reflection.

So I took a walk to the temple this afternoon- right before it rained. I'm glad that Heavenly Father let it hold out until I got 5 minutes from home.

This week we had a meeting at the Center for Service and Learning and we talked about Reflecting. I started thinking about that this week. Not how I can incorporate reflection into my program, but just reflection in general. Reflecting is a large part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our Father in Heaven reflects and he wants us to do the same. When I am walking around campus or around the temple I see benches. Under trees, in front of the temple, beside buildings... All of these sitting areas can serve multiple purposes, to tie a shoe, to sit down after you've walked up a huge hill, etc. But I think the benches around the temple are meant for reflection, for pondering the eternal things of Heaven.

On Saturday nights I tend to prepare myself for Sunday. I change my thoughts and begin to reflect on what will happen tomorrow. How I can prepare myself to partake of the Sacrament? What is the lesson in Sunday School and Relief Society? How can I improve next week and what all do I need to accomplish? Reflection doesn't have to be centered on the past but can be aimed toward the future. I have this overwhelming feeling when I look up at the sky and the trees, the sun shining on the temple, and the beauty of life. I love my Heavenly Father and I'm so thankful for the blessings that he has given me in my life. I love to see the temple, and I'm going there someday.
