I was just reading a woman's blog that I knew from back home. She was talking about what methods she can use to teach her toddler about the gospel at such a young age.
While I'm sitting at work reading this, I just stop and vision in my head, myself with kids and trying to teach them the gospel. How can I do it? How will I do it? How did my Mother do it? And how has it been so easy for me to grow up living these standards?
I have no doubt that it will be hard, but I know that Heavenly Father will help me to teach his children about the wonderful plan He has for each of us. I know that as a kid my Mother read to me. I do not doubt that she read the scriptures to me, I remember the book about Joseph Smith and Nephi. But most of all, I know that I learned the most about the gospel through music.
My Mom was the Young Women's President when I was a kid. She had the Janice Kapp Perry Cassette Tapes and we listened to them in the little red escort that we had and I remember listening to those all the time. "In the Hollow of His Hand", "Testimony", "I Walk by Faith".. you know- all of the classics. I don't know why I thought of this all of a sudden.. but maybe I was taught the gospel through music as a child and as well as having righteous parents who took me to Church every Sunday and who magnified their callings. It is such a blessing to be a part of a family that is active in the Church. I thank Heavenly Father for my parents every day.
I do not know when I will be married, or when I will have kids. I do know that I want my house to be a "singing house". One that is full of music. A house where people will want to come to just stop in to say "Hey", a clean house, a happy house, a loving house.
A home where the Spirit of the Lord can be felt. A house that will foreshadow the images of eternity.
