I admit, being away from home on Easter was not fun. There were no chocolate bunnies, no easter goodies.. but that is not the point of Easter. No matter where I go, the true meaning of Easter is the same.
I didn't blog on Easter, so consider this my Easter Blog.
I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives. I know He lives! He is real! He is a perfect, glorious, resurrected human being. He dwells on the right hand of the Father. He is my exemplar, my King, my Elder Brother and my Friend. I praise and revere his name. He did not suffer in Gethsemane for fame. He did not suffer on the cross for praise or to make a name for Himself. He did these things because he loves us. He has pure love. He does not judge based on ethnicity, race, or religious denomination. We are his Brothers and Sisters. He chose not to rid himself of the wounds in his hands and in his feet. He bought us with his blood, and with his stripes we are healed.
I know that he was resurrected. I know that he broke the bands of death and made it possible for each of us to have eternal life. How grateful I am for his sacrifice for the human race.
I know that when Christ came into the world as a child he did not know his divine mission. But as he waxed in years and grew in both knowledge and stature, it was revealed to him through revelation that he was to be the Savior of the world. He is our Advocate with the Father and he constantly pleads our case before him. He loves us. If there is anything more comforting in the world it is the knowledge, that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us no matter what we do. He will never leave us alone. Our Savior Jesus Christ has promised us that he will never leave us comfortless but will always come to us. I testify that this is true. No matter what we do he will always be around us answering our prayers and providing consolation. Whether through the Holy Ghost or through a kind neighbor he will see that we are given the help that we need.
I leave these thoughts with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
