The Week is Finally Over!!

Whew!
This week has been a long, busy and a tough one. I love being stressed out sometimes, I don't know why. I love being constantly on the go and having tons of stuff to do and I like having a jammed schedule. I know most of you wouldn't prefer it that way. Maybe I have some kind of work-aholic syndrome or something. I campaigned for the first two days of the week for Garrett and Nat, Wednesday things kind of slacked off so I was able to study. I took my Biology test yesterday and then I did a little campaigning for Elise and Landon today. Glad to say they are the new BYUSA Pres and Vice Pres. :) All of the candidates worked really hard, so kudos to them!!

Tonight we had a little party at Alpine to end the busy week.

Let's see what all is going on in my life now.
I am going to be a Y Group leader for New Student Orienation this Summer. I was one last year for Fall semester and I really enjoyed it so I wanted to do it this year too. Being a Y Group leader this summer has its advantages because NSO is only two days and not like a whole week.
So I'm excited for that coming up in June.

I have just been chosen to be a Program Director for the Center for Service and Learning this upcoming 2009-2010 school year. I'm really excited about that. I love this University and I love service. So what better way than to give back to BYU by serving the campus and the community! I don't know what project I will be assigned to but I have asked to head up Y-Days which is a week long event on campus honoring the history of service on BYU's campus. Basically a lot of service projects will be available to work on during the week in Brigham Square. That is coming up around the last week in March for this year and I asked to volunteer for it so maybe I can get the feel of what goes on.

What a Program Director does is head up one of the 42 service programs that are offered and sponsored by BYU. There are about 3 or 4 program directors for each program that are overseen by a Service Council Member. We will be in charge of recruiting people, advertising, planning and getting the word out about our program.

I love being involved on campus. I love attending activities that are sponsored by BYUSA, and even those that aren't. During this week and over the last few weeks I have really felt that I need to be involved on Campus. I loved volunteering in the campaign and meeting new people. The only way we are going to have the best BYU experience we can have is by trying new things out and being an active member of the student body. I know I probably already said that before in a blog, but I really do believe in it. I love this University and I love the fact that I took the opportunity to come here when I was so close to just settling for BYU-Idaho. Heavenly Father truly does want me here and I know it is for a reason.

So let me get off on one last thing... I ordered a pair of Sperry's because the ones I currently have are just getting old and you know leather starts to smell after a while.. especially since you don't normally wear socks with sperry's because that just looks gay. Anyway.. they came in today and my roommate texted me and told me they were here but the office closes at 5:30, so I leave the WILK at about 5:15 and I get to the office door and they already shut it!! I get home and it was JUST 5:30 I even put my stuff away and went to the mailbox and it was only 5:33!! I was so mad. I'm glad the office is open tomorrow though so I can get my shoes.

Well this weekend we have stake conference tomorrow from 2-4 and on Sunday at the Provo Tabernacle. I need to study for my BOM test that I plan on taking on Monday. Trust me, I have a lot of things to really learn for that class. It's not going to be an easy exam. Then I need to study for my American Heritage test that I plan on taking next Wednesday (yes the first day of the late fee $5...). I really don't like history so it will be a tough one for me to study for too. I can't believe the semester is almost over and there is still so much to do. Like this Book of Mormon research paper that I have due in April that is hovering above my head.

My friend from home is coming out toward the end of the month and another one is coming out in the middle of March and then I have a friend moving out to Provo at the end of April. My Bishopric Counselor from back home is taking me and two other youth from back home, out to dinner on Tuesday night. Things are just always busy busy busy.. I love it.. but I'm ready for a break.

I'm headed out! Take care y'all!

Holla!
