I have a lot of blogs to read this week. Maybe that will give me something to do while there's down time at work ;)
After sitting on planes for four hours and sitting in the airport for two hours, I'm finally back in Provo. I didn't give you the rundown of being in Alabama because I had no internet connection anywhere!! It was either all so slow and never loaded or there was no wireless connection.
I was able to go to my Aunt's house and use her computer for a little while, just to print off the boarding passes and such.
Being back home was refreshing, normal, and boring. What is there to do in Decatur?? All of the good stuff is in Huntsville! I did make my Mom take me back to Hazel Green where I grew up so I could see our old house and my Elementary school. That place feels like home. The grass, the sky, the air. It just all feels familiar, peaceful, free and welcoming. I guess you can say I am a country girl. I was able to pick up my accent while I was at home, I lost it out here in the West with all of these Westerners and their funky ways of pronouncing words. Unfortunately, I got a call from one of my friends who said he couldn't tell that I had my accent. I don't want to talk to anyone yet so I can keep my accent intact and protect it from the corruption of foreign Western lingo.
My cousin is leaving to go on his mission this week, he leaves Alabama tomorrow to fly out here and goes to the MTC on Wednesday. So we got to have a little family gathering on the day of his farewell. It was good having all of the family together and being with each other and of course, eating food. Christmas wasn't a big whoop this year, just me and Mom getting up to open presents and then going to H-Ville to my Aunt's house. We stayed there for a little while then came home. Just the normal stuff, Mom works during the day and when they would let her off early we'd go shopping... just the normal stuff.
Of course, Mom did drop her Cell phone in Wal-mart and the antenna came off and she can't get no reception, my internet couldn't connect so it was pointless of me bringing my lap top, the sync cord to my mp3 player wouldn't work but I finally figured it out, my mom got a Christmas figurine that she has no idea what to do with, my luggage was stuck in Denver when I got to Alabama and had to come the next day, my eyes got messed up from sleeping in my contacts and I couldn't wear contacts nor did I have glasses at some point for three days.
On the flipside, it's not cold in Alabama, I got to witness a good 'ole Thunderstorm, I watched all of my favorite southern movies to help enhance my accent, I spent time with my Mom, I slept in until 11:15 every morning, my mp3 cord did work after I was able to connect to the internet at a fast pace for about 10 minutes, I cooked chicken legs with mashed potatoes, I had fried eggs and biscuits in the morning... There's nothing like being back at home.
School starts on Monday and I'm so excited. I'm enthralled in my Aunt's book Above Suspicion, which you should all read if you haven't already. Church is in the morning, and I need to sleep.
Holla!
