What a lovely weekend it has been!
FRIDAY night me and my friend went to the Nickelcade and let's just say she is obsessed with spending nickels at this one game. The one that bulldozes off the nickels and however many fall off you get that many tickets, I admit, It is addicting. I kept saying one more, but I think I lied about three times. After that we went back to her apartment for about ten minutes and found a recipe for Pina Coladas and went to the store to try and find Coconut Cream but NO ONE had it!! So we bought whipping cream and found a frozen pina colada mix and made the best pina coladas in the world. Okay, maybe not in the world, but they were definitely good. Then we watched an episode of HOUSE that I had already seen, but I just love that show so much I sat there and watched the girl throw up her own blood and bleed to death because she had a nail in her head that moved from the magnetic Buddah. Hence my inspiration for wanting to get a Buddah for the apartment. Wouldn't that be cool? Our own buddah, but then I was informed that he was sexist, but he wouldn't be sexist in this apartment.
SATURDAY...
What did I do on Saturday? I don't even remember. Oh I slept in until about 10 something, got up and washed my hair and then I waited for my friend to come over so we could make breakfast and watch What about Bob? Which is one of the best movies ever. AHOY! Do you Sail? I just picked it up. HA! That night we traveled to DI to get costumes for our Stake Halloween Dance which was okay I guess. Pictures will come later :)
TODAY (SUNDAY)...
I got up at 8:37 and started to prepare myself for the Sabbath day. What a lovely day it was.
I had the opportunity to sing in Sacrament meeting and I got to sing one of my favorite songs. Mercy's Arms. I love that song because it describes how I feel about our Savior's love and mercy. He loves us. And when we do something wrong, he is there to comfort us and heal us. The atonement is real, it is powerful, I have felt its cleansing power in my life and I have felt to "sing the song of redeeming love" when Christ put his loving arms around me and sent the Holy Ghost to bear witness to me that my sins were forgiven and that I had many more chances to start over again. How grateful I am to our Savior Jesus Christ for his attributes. He is loving, kind, forgiving, compassionate. He is a healer, a comforter, a friend, my Redeemer and King. I look to him for strength. He is my exemplar. I love him and can not wait to see him again.
Our hometeachers came over tonight and shared the message with us about How to Develop Christ like attributes. It is so important in this day to center our lives around Christ. When we focus on him and try to be like him, everything will work out the exact way it is supposed to and there will be no fear.
